Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Although I didn't know Cody personally, my heart swells with pride for this young man. My son is 19 and graduated from LPHS just this past year in 2011. He went to school with Cody, but didn't know him on a personal level either. But several of my son's friends are leaving or have already left for the service, and the loss of this young man truly hits home. To the Norris Family,
I am at a loss for words. Today, I passed First United Methodist Church and saw the street, church drive, and parking lot lined with police, motorcycle groups, and vets and realized that today is Cody's home going. My son is a 2009 graduate of LPHS and is serving in the United States Navy. Words seem so small when people thank you for your sacrifice but it's the best we can do. May God bless and keep you during this time.

To the family of PFC Norris:
I am sad to say that I only am aware of this sad event due to working across the street from where the funeral was held. I saw many people with U.S. flags and standing on the side of the road showing their support for Mr. Norris. No amount of words can give you your loved one back, but know that there are many people in this community and beyond who share some grief in knowing that such a young man has given his life for all of us.

Dear Norris family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

What an amazing and exceptional young man dear Cody was. I had the honor and privilege of working with Cody during the 2009 La Porte Community Health and Safety Fair. He was the JROTC student commander for that event. If I asked Cody to do something, I didn't need to worry because I knew he would get it done. And he drove a mean golf cart! I am devastated by Cody's loss and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
