I "found" Miss Schneider about 10 years ago, via a volunteer newsletter I found online and we emailed each other a few times. I was so happy to be able to tell her that she was my all time favorite teacher and gave me an appreciation for American literature which I never had before. And I was able to tell her that she was also my brother's favorite teacher. "Conti" told me that she remembered both of us, and also revealed that she saved all of her seating charts of all of her classes and that helped her to remember her students. Thank you, "Conti," for touching and inspiring so many of us with your love of American literature. p.s. I loved reading "Our Town" in your class; in March, I had some small parts (paper boy, dead person) in a local production of "Our Town."

Miss Schneider, as I knew her, was my senior year English teacher at Venice High, in 1975. I am a professional writer now, and credit her with my ongoing pursuit of a "fine sentence." Loved her dry sense of humor. What a splendid person.

Conti and I went to the same manicurist in Monterey, Thue, for many years; our appts. were back to back on Wednesdays. In my mind she was a great and wonderful person and I feel very fortunate to have had her for a dear friend. May you now be at peace, Conti! I certainly miss you! Love, Marilyn Quadros

Conti, I have adored you since I was eight years old, and I was incredibly delighted when you became my stepmother when I was 42 years old.
I should be grateful that you had 23 months of good life -so far as we could tell! - after your six-month notice of a terminal cancer diagnosis. But I still miss you with shock and sorrow. I AM very grateful that you had peace at the end, at home, with a good friend holding your hand. You always have deserved the best, with your grace, kindness, humor, elegance and great love shared with my beloved father.
The folks in heaven are lucky to have you! Thank you, God, for letting Conti be an important part of my life.
