Courtnay Foster Chase, 49, of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13,, 2015 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Courtnay was born on August 10, 1965 in Winston-Salem, NC the daughter of Kenneth Foster of Wilmington and the late Joyce Foster. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Parker and two brothers-in-law Josef Scott Chase and Chris Steven Chase.
She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1983 and earned her nursing degree from Forsyth Technical Institute and worked as an ICU nurse at NC Baptist Hospital and New Hanover Regional Medical Center until 1995. At that time, she became an accomplished full time mother and part-time farmer. Everybody that knows Courtnay knows her love for her children and animals. You could always find Courtnay when she wasn?t cheering on her kids down in her big red barn. She brought life and love to everyone and everything in which she was involved.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dr. Timothy Chase; three wonderful children Nicholas (20), Alexandra (17), and Christopher (15). She is also survived by her father-in-law Stan Chase and mother-in-law Harriet Chase.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Port City Community Church, 250 Vision Dr. followed by a celebration of Courtnay?s life at 11:00 AM. A private graveside will be at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The Chase Family would like to sincerely thank everyone that has walked hand in hand with us through her journey. We want to thank Dr. Bebb, Dr. Arb, Dr. Kays, Dr. Carey, Dr. Graham, and Nurse Practioners Anna Kate Owens and Kathy Black. We also want to thank all the wonderful nurses, medical assistants, facilities and hospitality staff at the institutions that so graciously served our family. Your extremely compassionate care and professionalism will never be forgotten.
