Not sure what to say?

I remember Curt from about 20 something years ago... My dad worked at Curt Smith's and Curt would always come in and deliver or pick up with his blue bag with a 'stop' sign on the end. I was about 5 or 6 and that was my first introduction to someone with a disability. He gave me candy. I moved away and returned a few years later as an adult and there he was like, well, clockwork :) Curt is essentially immortal as long as we keep him in our thoughts.

Time waits for no one. I'll miss him too.

My first memory of Kurt was at 313 on Main St., I think it was called The Down Town Abbey at that time though. I was not old enough to get in, but managed to anyhow. I cant remember what band was playing but I remember Kurt. He was doing some sort of shuffle dance right up front. From then on I saw him all over town. I always smiled and said hello. I never knew his name or even asked. I wish I would have.

What a legacy Curt was to his beloved Belleville! How wonderful that the people in Belleville recognize and appreciate that they had a special citizen known as Curt. The fortunate ones are those whose lives were touched by Curt. He will be remembered for many years by the clock. Perhaps for some he will even be introduced through the clock. As new people move to town I am sure they will be told countless stories about Curt and how the clock came to be...What a wonderful tribute for such a...

God Bless You Curt.

I grew up in Belleville, on East "A" St, and seeing Curt walk all over my neighborhood is one of my earliest memories. When I was older and working downtown, he always stopped into the Chicken Ranch or 3-1-3 back in the day to say HI, offer up an errand, or just chill and listen to the music. He was a kind soul who will be greatly missed.

I moved away from Belleville about 12 years ago. I always enjoyed seeing Curt when I came back to visit my family. I told friends here in Arizona how he was such a big part of the small town charm of Belleville. He was always around and it was like I never left! I remember him coming in to ask me if I needed lunch or any erronds run when I had my first job at a shoe store downtown. And then in later years enjoying the music and nightlife at different bars or functions. Coming home won't...
