Not sure what to say?

Dale was one of the first people I met after coming to Savannah almost 20 years ago. He was a good friend, and always had useful advice to offer. ( I had never met any one who ran into more "deals" !) I can't drive down LaRoche Ave without thinking of him . He will be missed.

Fat boy, I'll see you on the other side, save me a seat. Squatty

The last time I saw Dale was 2001 before I moved to Dallas. I ran into Dale almost weekly at the Post Office on Eisenhower and he was always cheerful. The last thing he asked me to do was to call my childhood friend, Suzanne
Stricland Smith, whom I had not talked to in years. I guess I should do now what he asked of me so long ago. He was a wonderful witness for his faith in God. God
bless you Dale.

Dale will be missed by all that knew him. God Bless

I am sorry for the loss of a good friend. Dale I will miss you. God Bless.

Several years ago Dale told me this poem:

Don't walk before me
I may not follow
Don't walk behind me
I may not lead
Walk beside me
And be my friend

Dale was the true embodiment of this poem. I am sorry for his health problems but happy to know he is with the Lord.

To Sleep

O Soft emablmer of the still midnight.
Shutting, with careful fingers and benign,
Our gloom-pleas'd eyes, embower'd from the light,
Enshaded in forgetfulness divine:
O soothest Sleep! if so it please thee, close
In Midst of this thine hymn my willing eyes,
Or wait the amen, ere thy poppy throws
Around my bed its lulling charities.
Then save me, or the passed day will shine
Upon my pillow, breeding many...

Our Dearest Uncle Dale,
You have departed this earthly plain to dwell in the House of the Lord, but you will remain in our hearts and souls until we meet again.
Love Eternal,
