It was a true privilege to have known Dan. The lasting impression I will have of him was his honesty and goodness of heart. He had a reputation of goodwill towards others that will outlast all that we know. Dan was a hero in the truest sense of the word, not just because of his service to the community in myriad ways, but because of his genuine and humble nature.
