Mr. Dalrymple was a good neighbor and a great friend. Always ready with a story or a laugh, and an eager listener. We will miss his positive presence in the neighborhood.
He was also a very accomplished man. In recent years, I often rode with him on the D6 Bus downtown where he was researching his next book at the Library of Congress.
Our condolences to his family and close friends. Rest in Peace, Mr. Dalrymple.

To Dr. Dalrymple's sons and family. I was privileged to know your father through our regular contacts as swimmers at the Lab School pool. I thoroughly enjoyed him and always loved the story of the publisher who was refusing his last paper because of too many footnotes! We have missed him at the pool. I hope there will be some notice of the memorial service because I would like to attend.

Dan and Will, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. His life was wonderful and productive and his family was terrific. A man can ask for no more. You are in my thoughts.

I am sorry for your loss. It is at times like these when we are crushed at heart and need love and support that God provides what we need. May your hearts always be filled with the love you shared knowing that love never fails.
