Daniel Lee Albritton

Dan was one of the kindest "gentlemen" who worked at NOAA. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. When we occasionally met at the grocery store Dan, always in jacket and tie, was always gracious. NOAA will never see the likes of him again.

In California, we worked with Dan and his NOAA proteges on important initiatives in the areas of air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and the interface between air quality and climate change. Dan was a wonderful administrator and scientist who I had the pleasure of knowing at NOAA. He was one of the kindest and thoughtful people I've known. Peace to you Dan.

Such a fine, intelligent scientist/leader who treated everyone with kindness and respect. It was a honor to know him.

I send my condolences to Dan´s family and friends. I enjoyed visiting NOAA Aeronomy Laboratory, He was an outstanding scientist and a kind human, who dedicated his research to science, which benefited society. He will be greatly missed by the atmospheric and climate science community.

An other player leaves the stage. I remember his very complete and understandable lectures with hand drawn diagrams on the clear plastic rollup on a overhead projector, also listening to him explaining ozone depletion on a shortwave VOA presentation when I was up country Peru. The last time I saw him was some years ago in Caffe Sole in South Boulder.
