Not sure what to say?

I can't belive it's been so many years. Dan was a wonderful, talented, brilliant, unique person. We shared some laughs, some French (he once called me to demand a translation of a long poem, which I was somehow able to give him) and much warmth over the years. Dan was a year ahead of me at Stanford Law School. I just loved him - his humor, warmth, intelligence, his gentleness (overlaying a fierce sense of justice). The whole city in addition to his friends and family lost a tremendous contributor when he passed away. What a huge loss.

My condolences to Danny's family and friends. I met Dan at Garvin;s Comedy Club in DC in 1982. He was hosting a show I was performing on. We have been friends ever since. He was funny and clever and smart and kind. I will miss him forever. He made me laugh and smile in a way no once else did,

I am so sorry for your loss. Sending my deepest condolences to the Brenner family.

Robin and former Stanford University President Donald Kennedy send their deepest condolences to Dan's family. Among his many accomplishments, Dan was a wonderful and highly valued trustee of our University. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.

Sending my sincere condolences to the family and friends in the loss of my dear friend, Dan. I met and worked with Dan at NCTA and he was always a happy spirited person. It was bittersweet when he moved to CA but I was so happy for him and we kept in touch. After he left DC, he called and said "come to CA to be with me and momma." We had a special mother/son type of relationship and my family knew him as "my Dan." One of our talks was shortly after he sent me a special birthday...
