Not sure what to say?

Mr Burke was my favorite teacher at CM. He was tough but honest I am sorry for your loss

So sorry to hear the news on Dan. We met coaching the Queensmen in `66 & `´67. RIP Dan.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Dan Burke. I had him as a teacher and football coach at CM. He was tough but always fair. He was interested in making you a better person and always lived up to his word. Learned some valuable life lessons from him! RIP Mr. Burke! Rich Cronin "78"

My condolences to the Burke family. I was one of his Pop Warner football players for two years when he coached the Queensmen. He was a fantastic coach, a tough but sensitive man who made a real investment in his players. He drilled us hard but in the two years we never lost a game and we were in such good shape we very rarely had an injury. Over the years I frequently thought about Dan and how much of an impact he had on my life. Tom Moran, Knoxville Tennessee

My first encounter with Mr. Burke was at St. Gregory´s in Dorchester grade 7.He told us to meet one Saturday at the Murphy School. When I showed up he said we are going to run 3 miles from the Murphy to Houghton´s Pond. I measured that course later in my running career and son of a gun it was 6 miles. I was third that day and realized I had an ability running because of Dan Burke. I ran through high school and college due to his efforts with the youth in Dorchester. Thank you!!!

Dan was my high school math teacher, mentor and friend. Also, Dan was my supervisor in 1977 for a memorable parks and recreation summer job. Dan and I went with 4 others on a trip to Europe in 1990-I was Dan´s roommate for the 3 week trip. Lots of great memories. Rest in peace Dan-in my prayers-Al Totten

I´m so sorry to hear about the passing of Dan. As a coach, teacher, and mentor he impacted the life of many in positive ways. He was my Pop Warner and High School football coach. Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time. But rest assured he will be remembered for all the good that he did.

So sorry to hear about Dan passing. He coached me and hundreds of others in baseball and football. So many memories that will be with many of us forever. Coach Dan you will be missed.

Mr. Burke had a significant impact on me as my guidance counselor at CM in 1988 through 1990. I needed a little of that tough love and he knew how to balance it. I wondered what he did after CM. What an an an incredible man. RIP Mr. Burke.
