I received a phone call from Columbia University Graduate School of Business about a possible 50th reunion of the Class of 1972. Dan was a member of that class and if the reunion is held, he will be sorely missed. I remember him as an upbeat, can-do, and lively graduate schoolmate. Dan's laughter was contagious and his warmth genuine. We shared a passion for how hospitals operate and I always learned from spending time with him. Sorely missed and not forgotten.

Dan purchased farmlands in our region and even recognized our village museum with a generous contribution on behalf of one of the regions farmers. No doubt his circle of friends extended well beyond the society big names, He remembered the little guy.
