I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Mr. Cosgrove's family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
May your memories and love you shared together help you through this time. I had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful gentleman. I was a young girl starting a job after college and one of my client appointments was with Dan. He became a friend. I will never forget the first day I met him. We spoke on the phone before our appointment, he told me to him at the fuel oil office....

Dan and our father, Fritz Petela, were the closest of friends since boyhood. Dan-o, as we little twins called him, was Justine's godfather. A man of brilliant mind, upright character, and unending generosity. They broke the mold.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Cosgrove holding court in the back booth of my dad's restaurant on Sunday mornings in the 60's. (The Mariner)He was kind,intelligent man and a definite leader. I've read about his many accomplishments over the years with great interest. My sympathy to his family and the town Of Branford.

Dan was an outstanding man and member of the Community,who did so much good for many many people .His name will ever be remembered at Hospice of Branford.
I am sure that very shortly in Heavev.there will be a Boxing Remach between Dan and his good friend .. Retired West Haven Police Chief Joe Harvey.
