Extremely well written obituary and tribute to a truly distinguished gentleman. He and my father had a deep mutual respect for each other and shared many intellectual and philosophical discussions each week in the store. Dan would spend hours in the rear corner of the store where dad was working and they'd have entertaining conversations with customers from all walks of life, and both Dan and dad had the gift to be able to connect with all of them and find good and common ground with each....

Mrs. DelVecchio, my dad was Emil Fioravanti . I have fond memories of when you and your husband would visit the market. My dad always held both of you in such high regard. My husband and I were at a fund raiser at Roger Williams park Botanical Center several years ago and I recognized you and introduced myself. I recall both of you being so kind as we reminisced and shared such happy memories. Looking back, I was so happy to have that moment with you both. As a two time kidney...

Some of my fondest memories are sitting in the Del Vecchio kitchen as Ann and Dan took turns feeding us. I thought then that there couldn't be a finer way to age with my loved one than enjoying good food with family and friends.
Dan shared his respectful memories of my father when I visited, and I will never forget how much comfort that brought to me. I felt welcome, always, in that kitchen where I spent so much time as a teenager, and visits throughout the years.

To Mrs DelVecchio my deepest condolence to you and the family.
As you know, Dan and I was close friends, until we departed were I had to leave and go into the service. I kept in contact with your brother-in-law to see how both of you were feeling.

Our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to Dan's family. It has been an honor and privilege for George to know and work with him for the past 40 years as a fellow lawyer. A wonderful person and a fine lawyer with a real passion for life. He was always a go to guy for a criminal law issue. When George was laid up with a serious illness more than 20 years ago he and Steve Clapp offered to help in any way they could. One never forgets that kind of sincere caring. He is certainly missed now...
