Daniel H. Hix

Dan and his family were a nice surrogate family to me when I still lived in Pittsburg. I learned a lot from the family and from Dan. I am grateful for those times and often refer back to them in my memory.

I grew up across the street from Dan & Joan Hix in the 70's and he was always helping me with my "hot rod" cars, lending a hand, engine lift, parts or whatever he could. Bright, very funny and twisted sense of humor Dan had. He also paid my last semester tuition and books at PSU with no strings attached and said if I couldn't find a job when I graduated with my Automotive Engineering degree that I could come work at HIX Corporation who he and his brother Cliff founded in the early 60's. ...

Dan was an amazing person in so many ways - sharp, witty, creative, fun to be around, and had a great sense of humor, and knew how to get things done. I was lucky enough to work with him and Bryan, Jean, Dana and Joan In Lawrence for a bit, and enjoyed my time with them. My condolences to the whole family.

Dan and Joan were always great next door neighbors. God's blessings to you Joan and your children.
