Daniel Bitler Knauer

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Knauer. My family has led a rewarding and happy life and it was largely because of this man. He hired me to teach at Salisbury in 1970 and because of the way that he shaped the school district I stayed for 35 years. I'm sure that he affected many, many others in a similar way. He was a strong and dedicated leader that I always greatly respected.

To the Knauer Family: I just heard about your Dad's passing this evening. Your Dad was one of the top people who had the greatest influence in my life -- he was an uncle, brother, friend,counselor etc. to me as well as my employer. I had and will always have the utmost respect for him. You all were such a wonderful family and I think of you so much. God bless you in this time of sorrow. You are in my prayers. Dr. Knauer hired me as a new elementary teacher in Salisbury Twp. in 1971 and I taught there for 33 years. During his tenure there was a sort of family feeling among the staff. As a union rep we didn't always agree but still had a good relationship. He left his mark on the Salisbury Twp. schools, staff, and students.
