Daniel Lee Mattis

Daniel was such an inspiration to me in college as I lived on the same door floor as him. He was a dear friend and I was terribly saddened when our floor mate Sean informed me of his passing from the hat he described as a "reverse John Q" from the movie John Q. I regret not developing our friendship further and still remember when UH conferred an honorary degree to his parents. I have no doubt he would have been one of the best of us to great things for the world. I am still saddened to this...
