Daniel M. Powers, Jr., 69
Daniel M. Powers, Jr., 69, of Punxsutawney, PA, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born March 4, 1952, in DuBois, PA, a son of the late Daniel M. Powers, Sr. and Eva L (Neilson) Powers, who survives.
He married his wife, Vicki (Rushnok) Powers, on May 18, 2011. She survives and lives in Punxsutawney, PA.
Dan worked many years as Produce Manager at Fezell’s Shop-n-Save of DuBois. He also worked at the Comet Market in Punxsutawney until his retirement. He deeply enjoyed serving his community and every person that he met.
In his retirement years, Dan loved spending time with family, especially his buddy Braxton. He enjoyed playing Lego Batman, working puzzles and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include his two children: Jessica (Yagnik) Powers and husband Gautam of Miami, FL, and Daniel Powers and fiancé Brooke Kunselman of DuBois, PA; three step children, W. Michael Rushnok and wife Wendy of Punxsutawney, Tyler Rushnok and significant other Justine Kaza of Brookville, PA, and Casey Rushnok and fiancé Dan Geer of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Connor, Willa, Madison, Zoey, and Braxton; three sisters, Linda (Sauers) Powers of Gibsonia, PA, Connie (Thiebaud) Powers and husband Tom of Belcamp, MD, and Sue (Weaver) Powers and husband John of Reynoldsville, PA; one brother, Jon Powers and wife Paula of Brockway, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter Stacey Lynn Powers and a brother-in-law Tom Sauers.
Daniel requested that no viewing be held. He wanted everyone to remember him the way he was in life.
A private memorial service will be held in the spring.

During the summer and college breaks when I worked at my Dad’s Shop-n-Save, I always worked for Dan in produce. He was a really good man, treated me well and became a friend. I’m sorry for your loss.
