Dan was the "Best Man" for my wedding in 1957, on the "Bride and Groom" TV program. He was my class mate in OCS in Ft. Benning, GA., a fellow Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and a small plane partner/pilot back in the mid 50's. It seems like he was always in my life, and always a gentle and kind friend, and a friend to the end. We loved him and we will miss him. Our hearts go out to Marilyn and all the family. He was indeed, a special person.

I, too, worked for Dan when he was Division Chief of IT in Prince George's County, MD. He was a great and understanding person during my transition into this realm and I thank God for the opportunity to know him. Dan Roper was a good man and I know he will be missed by all who knew him. I worked with him at Prince George's County, MD when he was the Division Chief of the Information Technology Division. His vast knowledge and impeccable integrity was good for the County.
