DANIEL SCHECHTER Obituary

SCHECHTER--Daniel. The Jewish Theological Seminary mourns the loss of Daniel Schechter, a respected leader in the Jewish community with a strong commitment to Jewish values, and a grandson of Dr. Solomon Schechter, second president of JTS from 1902 to 1915. The Schechter family made generous contributions to JTS and, in particular, the Schechter Collection of The Library of The Jewish Theological Seminary over the years. Loving husband of Sally; devoted father of David, Nancy, Jane, James, and John, an alumnus of JTS's rabbinical school; father-in-law of Audrey, Leonard, Susan, and Riki, an alumnus of JTS's cantorial school; and beloved grandfather of 11 grandchildren.
