Not sure what to say?

As a child of 7, I saw Danny Sims hit the longest home run I have ever seen. First pitch of the game, off the back of a building across the street..on the fly. Oh, he was playing for Union Camp Pony League. My father, George Ulmer, was the manager of the opposing team. This all happened in Springfield, Georgia. I still tell this story even today. Danny was 14 at the time. Tip my hat, Danny.

Mayette, Remembering you on this date. I have it on my calendar and think so fondly of Danny and your family. Please know my prayers are with you.

Mayette and family. Remembering you and Danny fondly during the years I worked with him at First Bank of Savannah. He was such a mentor to me in my early years. Mayette, I still have the porcelain angel you gave me when Brent was born in August, 1983 and hang it on our tree every Christmas I know you miss him.

Dear Mayette,
I was so sorry to hear about Danny. I haven't talked with you in a long time, but I used to go to school with you and Danny. I wanted you to know I am thinking of you and your family. You are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Susanne Futch Covington

What a sad end for a True Hero back in his day. Danny and the word GREAT always belonged in the same sentence, and always will.

My condolences to Danny's family.
