Not sure what to say?

Dr. Stechschulte was a great teacher. He always exuded a tremendous sense of calm on rounds. He had the ability to provoke a good medical discussion with just a few words. I enjoyed my rotation in Rheumatology because of him.

Dan exemplified the best qualities of both an effective clinician and teacher. He encouraged colleagues to be their best. I never attended a meeting he presided over without coming away owning new ideas and with greater enthusiasm for our specialty.

My heart sank when I heard the news of the of one of the greatest mentors and physicians passing. I had the honor of working with Dr. Stechschulte for nearly three years. Never have a met a such a kind, brilliant, and humble person. He was widely loved and sought after as one of the greatest in his field in the country. Patients traveled from all over the country searching for answers only he could provide. He was an absolute joy to work with and for. He inspired me to make the career...

Dan was a valued colleague

I rode the school bus with Dan, played basketball with him and his brother Paul who were a formidable force on the court. I remember those days and would always catch him when he visited Kalida. My sympathy on your loss. Gene Wurth

Mrs. Stechschulte and family, My sincere condolences to you and your family. I take care of a good friend that was a patient of Dr. Stech. I felt so blessed to have met such a wonderful physician. I knew the first time I met him with my friend, that he was a special individual and physician with a great gift. Dr. Stech is truly missed but he will never be forgotten. God Bless,

He figured out with a glance at my chart (while talking to me about the recent Nobel laureates in economics) what several doctors for several years could not figure out, and he had a simple fix, so that my husband and I could have children. I was not at that visit to discuss fertility problems, but that did not matter as, most fortunate for us, Dr. Stechschulte was holistic in his...
