Not sure what to say?

I know that my late husband, the oboist Robert Bloom, would want me to remind Dan's husband David and his entire family and the entire oboe family that we cherish Dan's artistry and his contribution to the art of oboe playing. He was a kind and generous man and is dearly missed.

Thank you for providing me an annual opportunity to remember Dan Stolper--though it is not nearly often enough given Dan's lifetime of devotion to nurturing pupils and supporting colleagues as we joined him in the pursuit of artistry as a means of making the world a better place. Requiescat in pace, Dan. We miss you.

He was teacher, mentor, and friend to many generations of oboists and additionally, he guided the contributors to the Journal of the International Double Reed Society with intelligence and sensitivity, resulting in the Journal becoming a valuable repository of...
