Dan, you will be missed, but I will still be warmed by memories of listening to great music on your stereo at Grinnell, and that share. Thanks for the jazz.

RIP, Dan. You and I were roommates at Grinnell College, 1974-1976. You turned me on to jazz. I remember we went to Chicago to hear Miles Davis in concert. You told me that, as often happened, Miles was to be a no-show. Instead, it was Weather Report. Jaco Pastorius, Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter. It was a wonderful concert. Thanks, Dan.

I knew Dan in high school at Rich Central in IL. We were in band and jazz band together and quickly became friends. I was searching on the Internet to see if I could get in touch with him recently, and sadly I found this link. My condolences to the family. He was such an intelligent, kind-hearted, up-beat individual - I'm so happy...

My deepest sympathies are with the Dan's family. Please know that you are in our thoughts as you grieve this loss. Dan was an important member of the team. All of his coworkers thought highly of him. Dan was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone that worked with him and he will be missed.
With sincere sympathy,

What a brave and unselfish friend Dan was! A pleasure having known him & laughed (alot!) with him, & learned some harsh but valuable lessons from such a stingingly sudden loss.. Thanks for lending me the "Being There" dvd, buddy, (which you always were!), now I "understand" -- Dan loved his Peter Sellars flicks! Promise I'll watch "Strangelove" too! -- which he raved about. And I know i have a cd of his sax playing laying around here, which I need to...
