He was so wonderfully kind, such a gentle soul. I insisted on attending my grandmother's funeral who died when I was in Fifth Grade. I made it half way through the Mass and fainted. Later, at Zia Natalina's house, amid the hussle and bussle of an elaborate family dinner, as I laid on the couch, Darrell took the time to sit down on the couch and talk with me.
