Not sure what to say?

Recently, a very old Swingline stapler came into my possession. I looked at the bottom of it, and I saw this man's name written on the bottom, and decided to google it on a whim, and found this page. I live in the SLC area, so there's a fair degree of confidence this is the Daryl McCarty who owned it. The stapler is a Swingline model 333, with simulated wood and chrome trim.

Daryl McCarty was my 6th grade teacher at Magna Elementary the 1956-57 school year. I remember him as the first teacher to instill in me the notion that education was valuable and important, not just something to fill social time and be endured. I can report that he tops the list of primary education teachers I remember and appreciate most. I send my sincere condolences to all of his family, friends and loved ones.

Paul, we were so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Everything we know of him was good. Please accept our best wishes to you and your family. May God bless you as you continue on. We think of you often.

Helen, Daryl Jr, and Paul, I remember your dad as a good friend and client. We solved many of the world's problems and State problems as we talked in my place of business in the Cottonwood Mall. I always respected and loved all of his advice and comments. God Bless! He will be missed. J Reed Thacker

After receiving the sad news about his passing this week, we have had the wonderful opportunity to review our memories -- and the tremendous accomplishments -- of our old friend, Dr. Daryl McCarty.
We are reminded of the scripture that reads, "By their works, ye shall know them." Daryl and Helen, your works are truly exceptional! What a beautiful,Christ-like example Daryl will continue to provide for those who knew him.
To all the extended family, our thoughts and prayers are...

It was a great honor to have Dr. McCarty as the executive director for UEA. I was in my early years of teaching and appreciated his leadership and direction for the profession. I always admired him and the stand he took for quality education in Utah. A great educator.

I was in Garfield grade school with Daryl. Each month when Tip Top Comics was sold at the drug store I bought it for 10 cents. After I read it Daryl would come to my house ( which was part of the town Library) and buy it for a nickel. I was glad to see my old friend had such a successful life. My sincere condolences to his family.

Paul, I'm so sorry for the passing of your father. Thoughts and prayers to your entire family during this difficult time. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Bruce and Andrea Ingleby

Mr. McCarty was my 5th grade teacher at Webster Elementary school. Mr McCarty was one the most encouraging, and caring teachers I ever had. I remember him patting my shoulder and telling me "you are a good student and a good person". He made me feel like there was nothing I could not do with a little hard work. He made my school year a great one, he made me feel that he always had time to help you. He had a great sence of humor, and I knew he loved his students and teaching. I later went on...
