Not sure what to say?

Mr. Grocott was the principal at Mint Valley Elementary during my second year of teaching at that school. I had pretty much made up my mind that I was not going to continue teaching. One day he walked into my classroom after the kids had left, and all he said was "Just let me know by April if you plan on being here next year". And that was it. He didn't question my decision or try to change my mind. I was just so appreciative that he understood I was the best judge of whether or not I...

He was a fantastic role model as my scoutmaster in Troop 514.

I knew Mr. Grocott practically all my life. He was my elementary school principal at Robert Gray when I started first grade there in 1963. Of course, getting to know the principal of one´s elementary school only happened if you were sent to his office. I think Mr. Grocott had a seat with my name on it. The first part is only partly true. Mr. Grocott was a very "hands-on", very present educator. Often showing up on the playground during recess, or in classrooms. I was part of the inaugural...

this note comes from Tom Pulliam on behalf of my Sister Ann Pulliam Peterson I noted Dave's obituary when it was first published and shared it with Ann as well as Pat Lambert..............we all remember Laura Grocott Flodeen incredibly well as part of FBI and CCYF as well as The God Squad Trip to Alaska on the ship The Anna Jackman -- I have many photos of this here in my home in Winston-Salem NC and will surely bring it with me to celebrate The Wonderful Life of Mickey Kirkpatrick which...

The last time I saw Millie & Dave was at their condo a couple years ago when they graciously offered me access to Millie´s genealogy notes. My mother, Carol Letsinger Hagdahl and Mellicent were 1st cousins. I´m hoping someone from the family can contact me because I am in possession of 1, possibly 2 trunks that Uncle Andrew made and am wondering if family would like them. (The estate sale people are coming tomorrow to start pricing items.) Sending my condolences and apologize for the poor...

I will miss him SO MUCH. I just found out about this today! (3/1/25). If I had known sooner, I would have liked to attend his funeral. My love and prayers to Millie and all the family. He has definitely earned his Heavenly crown. Mary Siefert, Belfair Condominiums #106 May his soul rest in Peace...

Mr Grocott was my Grade School Principal at Robert Gray K-5. When I was 19 I got a deep sea fishing trip for my birthday. Go to the boat and there was Mr Grocott. He welcomed me as an old friend but then he put me to work but rewarded me by letting me drive the boat back in. That is an experience that has been told many times along with other people's experiences with Mr Grocott.

Mr. Grocott made an imposing impression on me, (authority, wisdom and most of all care).bus-He emphasized the "care" when he gave me my first "hack" for playing in the school-bus-loading zone. He stood tall in my memory. After reading his obit just seems a lot taller.

He was my principal through my years at Robert Gray. He was a wonderful man. He knew all the kids´ names, and played with us at recess and fairly disciplined when needed. He will be missed.
