May God Bless you and Dave's extended family during this time of loss. Davie was always a person who had a plan and a mission, and full of energy. My memories go to all the days of riding in a green VW van "Dave Scherer and the Castels", "Nationally Known Recording Artists" to afternoon T.V. dance shows, evening dance jobs and then closing down Lake Side or later the Catatonia. These are memories that will be with me forever. We played for the openings for most all of the new...

Debbie I am so sorry for our loss of a great guy. I remember so well the many great times we had with Dave and playing in the Castels. We will miss him and his leadership of a fine group of musicians.

Debbie-We have only known you as Dr. Newlin's nurse but still wanted to tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Please know that we are thinking about you and your family. God bless you all.

Dave:
When Dave Scherer and the Castels practiced in our basement it was exciting......especially for a 14 year old! The laughs, the music and your smiling face made Wednesday nights a joy.

Dear Debbie and Family,
I just read the notice from my folks about Dave's passing. I am so sorry to hear this news. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.
God Bless,
Anne

He may be gone but not forgotten by this member of the OFFC, that he started . We spent minny a morning on the lake bank watching the sun come up over the trees ,with the ducks and geese reminicing about our child hood and world happenings , Ill join him again someday on that big lake and we'll do it again, till then see you little buddy. with heartfelt love

Davey,
Thanks for all those years in my parents basement where you guys practiced, you helped me develop a love of music. All you guys were my heros and I often have very fond memories which I owe to you. May God Bless your family and grant them peace.

Id have to go a long way to find a better friend than Dave. They say if one has 1 friend in a lifetime, hes fortunate. I have been blessed by having several friends. Dave and I go way back. I will miss him more than I could say as words just arent enough to express my feelings.I'll miss my friend. My heart goes out to Daves family.
Ill miss you Dave.

I remember that when my Uncle David wanted to praise someone, he would say they were a "class act". Those are the words that come to my mind today. Uncle Dave was a class act. He was very intelligent and knew many things and had many skills, but yet he was very down-to-earth. Despite all of the hardships, Uncle Dave was lucky because he had friends and family that stuck with him and who loved him. His was a life well lived and we should celebrate this about him even as we mourn his passing.
