Dear Janice,
I am in shock reading this as I just mailed your Christmas card yesterday. Dave and I have been exchanging Christmas cards for years. He was my Dad's cousin. My dad was Pete Brunner, the only son of Helen Westerdahl Brunner. Dave was my last contact with Dad's family. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers. Only a few months in Seoul under your command of the 8th Army Honor Guard showed me that you were a man of principle and honor as well as a great leader. I regret that I could not serve longer under your command. Rest in God's arms until you call us together in heaven. Our prayers are with your family in this time of loss.

As a member of General Douglas MacArthur's Honor Guard in Seoul, Korea, but was commonly known back then as the 8th US Army/UNC Honor Guard of Seoul.
