David Allen

Today I was reading a newspaper article about the Wimpy Burger restaurant and it reminded me of Dr. Allen (we always called him 'Doctor' even though I know he wasn't an MD). My entire family wore good ol' hard contacts from the mid-1960s onward. We lived in Davis at the time and would make the trip to The Contact Lens Center in Sacramento to get our lenses cleaned and polished, or replaced, as needed. He was the best and I visited every couple of years for decades. Anyway, was just thinking...

I am Debbi's sister-in-law and knew David for years. I remember him wearing red and green contact lenses during Christmas. Very special in my book.

It was always such a pleasure to visit with David while in my contact lens days back in the 1960's. He was always upbeat and had a fabulous sense of humor. So glad he was a part of my life.
