Prof. Dave Atlas's dedication to radar meteorology was inspiring . I learnt a lot from his discussions and presentations.

Dave was a true science hero to me. He and Lou Battan were always generous and inspiring to their young colleagues. It was an honor for me to have known Dave Atlas.

Dave was a great scientist, colleague and closes friend who visited the NOAA laboratory in Miami numerous times when he was still at NASA and after his retirement. He was always excited to learn about our research and would often dive in on some of that research and work with us to get them published. I know I will miss Dave's infectious enthusiasm and gregarious manner of doing research. He taught me of the importance of serendipity in the research process.I will miss him dearly. I want to...

Death is a sting and was never God's intention for man to die. God has made a way out, however, by making it possible for us to see our loved ones again here on earth. May this thought comfort you at this most difficult time.

Dear Lucille and Family, Min and I are very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. Please accept our condolences. Working with Dave in last 12-year has inspired us and will inspire us for the rest of life. We will really miss him.
