December 21st
...the winter solstice...
the darkest day of the year.

haʻo mākou iā ʻoe e ka hoa aloha

One smile from David and everything was right with the world. He had a smile that was lit from within, it was genuine, and it was beautiful. My deepest condolences to you, Chrissy, and to the rest of your family. David's light has only dimmed, it can never be put out.

David, you are one of the few people who demanded that i learn to be honest with not only myself but with others. for that i will always be grateful. you are an important part of my life which shaped me into the person i am today. we all may have had some tough times but damn, did we laugh. while those of us left behind may be feeling sadness, i know you have found peace.

Just a few months ago Uncle David and i had talked about meeting the next time i came to Toledo. I have not seen him in many years. I love you Uncle David.
