Not sure what to say?

All honor to his name.

I met Dave when I pledged Sigma Chi in 1971. I always enjoyed talking with him. After returning to Utah, I would run into him at Harmons. We would chat for a couple minutes. I'll always remember him fondly. I was surprised to read that he had joined the LDS Church. I am pleased for him. All the best to his family. I pray that you will have all of the blessings you need and want.

Dear Linda, I was out of the country in June and just read about Dave's passing. (Even though I knew Dave in high school, I knew you before him with our St. Paul youth conference escapades when we were in junior high.) Sending my thoughts and sympathy to you and your family. He was a good man. Nancy (Holt) Monson

Linda and family - I'm so sorry for your loss. As you may know, Dave was my little brother in Sigma Chi. We spent a lot of time together during those years and I always got such a kick out of him. What a unique person! He was always well informed and had plenty to say, often humorously stated, about just about everything and everyone. I loved running into Dave around town and wish I'd seen more of him in recent years. It's hard to believe he's gone. I know how much he loved his family and...

Condolences to your loved ones. Hope to see you on the other side. You were a good man.

Dave and I were somewhat unlikely buddies. We met during my second quarter at the U in the winter of 1969. Dave and I were drawn together mainly through our mutual love of music. We lost track of each other when I went away for 2 years, but reconnected at summer school on my first day back from my mission. He informed me that the Grateful Dead and New Riders of the Purple Sage were playing that night at the Salt Palace. He took it upon himself to reintroduce me to civilian/secular life. And...

I´m saddened to read of Dave´s passing. Although Dave was younger, we grew up together in the same neighborhood and both went to the same elementary school and later became fraternity brothers. I don´t think anyone loved Sigma Chi more than Dave. Condolences and wishes of comfort to Dave´s wife, Linda, and their family for their difficult loss. In Hoc Dave and God be with you.

This is a fine remembrance of Buchman's life. We became friends in 1972 at the Sigma Chi fraternity and he was the reason I stayed. I was honored to have him as a groomsman at my wedding and proud to stand with him at his. I've been impressed the last year as he fought this disease and its constant complications, harder than imaginable, with grace and seeming fearlessness. When we spoke, even recently, he'd never fail to redirect the conversation to my family and how they are. To say I valued...

Linda and family - Sending heartfelt condolences. Dave was a great friend I met while working at First Security and Wells Fargo. We had great times together talking politics, sports, and life in general. I will miss him greatly.
