Dear Mrs. Calandra and Family, I just heard that Dr. Calandra passed, I am so very sad for your loss. He was one of the best Cardiothoracic surgeons I ever worked with. He treated everyone with the utmost respect, all his patients loved and trusted him with their lives. What a legacy!! your all in my prayers! I know everyone at Hinsdale CVICU misses him. I am so very sorry for your loss. Dr. Calandra helped my husband, Sol Mastro, many years ago giving him 6 more good years. Our family was blessed to have the time. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

His caring and concern for others, his unique abilities as a surgeon, his gentleness and giftedness in every way raises him above the others in his life of service. My heart goes out to you at this time of loss. David fought a good fight and we will see him again some day.
