When I first arrived in Fresno in September 1956 as a young Assistant Professor of Chemistry, the first CSUF (then FSC) faculty member whom I met was Dave Clark. Together we cleaned up the departmental storeroom, where unneeded chemicals had accumulated throughout the years, with the chant, "If in doubt, throw it out!" Some of my earliest memories were of my parent's friends, Margie & Dave. Dad & Dave taught at Fresno State for awhile & remained friends even after we moved to Los Angeles in the mid 1950's. I always felt so welcome when in their home & even as an adult would visit when I lived in Fresno.
