When I first arrived in Fresno in September 1956 as a young Assistant Professor of Chemistry, the first CSUF (then FSC) faculty member whom I met was Dave Clark. Together we cleaned up the departmental storeroom, where unneeded chemicals had accumulated throughout the years, with the chant, "If in doubt, throw it out!" ( No one was concerned about the proper disposal of toxic substances in those antediluvian days). Dave and Margey were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where my wife Laurie sang in the choir. During the early 1970s Margey supervised Laurie in her 3rd grade student teaching at Fresno's Winchell elementary school, where Laurie herself had been a pupil many years earlier. We both have warm memories of Dave and Margey, and our hearts go out to Margey and her family at this time of trial and sadness.

Some of my earliest memories were of my parent's friends, Margie & Dave. Dad & Dave taught at Fresno State for awhile & remained friends even after we moved to Los Angeles in the mid 1950's. I always felt so welcome when in their home & even as an adult would visit when I lived in Fresno.
