David R. Dallas

It doesn't seem possible that 10 years have passed. I think of your family with fondness.

Looking back to a month ago, it is still difficult to accept the loss of David. He was my “twin,” as we were born on the same day - but six years apart. Visiting with him in mid-July, David was ready to start a new chapter in his life. His divorce was almost final, he had found a home in Petersburg that he was preparing to close on, and he had transferred Malik from Virginia State University to Virginia Commonwealth University.

Life was good, and he was moving to a place of peace and...

David you were a outstanding sailor/signalman onboard USS Sumter (LST-1181). I also considered you a true friend of my family. Rest in peace David. May God's strength be with Pam, Miatta and Malik, hold fast.

My Condolences goes out to the Dallas family may he continue to strengthen you all in this time of need you will be truly missed…R.I.P. Dave! I will miss you dearly!

We have some great memories of working with Dave as a Manchester Band Booster! He was a great guy and his loss is deeply felt by our family and our condolences go out to Dave's family.

Not a better "backyard" neighbor could be found anywhere. We are so glad we got to know David when we all moved into a new neighborhood. Zeb & Hazel, Midlothian, VA.
