We in the American Society for Microbiology Education Department are very sad to hear the news. David was a vibrant part of the ASM Biology Scholars community. I sent messages to his colleagues in his program and all were shocked and grieved to hear the news. There were nothing but compliments for his hard work in the field of biology education. So very sad to hear of David's passing. David was a friend and colleague of mine who was truly an inspiration to me. I will always be grateful for his friendship and the support and encouragement that he shared so generously with me. David has touched so many lives and will be dearly missed. Sending my most heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones - will be keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers.
