David was an awesome person. I met him when I was about three years of age. He was very spiritual and served God the best way he could. I'll never forget the time he took me out to the Hampton Coliseum parking lot and let me practice driving his car. He laughed at me saying I was trying to be to cool and need to put both hands on the wheel. I enjoyed the many times he would come over and hangout with the family. He was family. He loved the kids, and was a great football coach. David was...

I knew david for along time, he worked with my ex-husband(than my husband) at the wythe fire station. We always kept in touch even after the divorce.I will miss him.May he sleep with the angels.

I knew David when he attended Pembroke High School. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and friends and former co-workers. He will be greatly missed and he was a wonderful person. Just know that God has him now and he is in a better place. Keep his memories alive in your hearts.

My heart felt condolences go out to the Horton family. David was one of the funniest guys around. His humor and wit was evident in his approach to life, friends and the world. He was a unique musician with bounds of creativity. God Bless you my brother.

I knew David Horton from the Wythe firehouse. He was a one of a kind individual. He lifted my spirit anytime I was around him. That "Hey, hey, hey" of his would echo through the whole station when he was on duty. He was a person who I could listen to and never become bored. He was a person who I trusted my life to as he was the pump operator that kept the water flowing on the fire calls I went on. Every time I saw David I would walk away a happier soul. I will miss him.... He was my friend.....

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
