44 years ago, Dr Kinne took care of my mother, while her breast cancer was already very advanced when she first saw him, his excellent care gave her 4 more years with us. Sincerest condolences to his family.

It was a privilege to know David Kinne. He was a consummate professional in all that he undertook - certainly in his distinguished and long career as a surgeon, and in his retirement years as a docent at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he gained not only the respect of his colleagues, but their affection and admiration. He was a true gentleman, modest, while offering the benefit of his deep knowledge to those who, like myself, volunteered alongside him as a guide in the Departments of Ancient Near Eastern Art, and Musical Instruments. To his beloved wife, Kathleen, and their family, may happy memories of the life you shared sustain you during this difficult time.

Thinking of the entire Kinne family during this difficult time. Lisa, I wish I could be there with you and attend the services, and I would were the world not turned upside down at the moment. I am glad, though, that we will have the opportunity to help you give your dad a proper send off when the madness settles and you are able to reschedule. For now, please accept my deepest condolences.

Every image I hold of David is that of a vibrant, brilliant, caring, true gentleman -- and superlative Metropolitan Museum Docent. The Met is where I had the pleasure of knowing David, all too briefly.
