David..I light this candle and will keep it burning..YOu would of been proud of me.. I am moving back to Salem..I have fond memories there. oxoxo Lisa

David..The first time I met you was in the hospital. I knew then you were an angle, Your kindness and respect for me was overwhelming. You guided me..and through your humor inspired me to go on. I want to Thankyou. i have said many times to you,,You were my hero!If it wasnt for you..The woodfield case wouldnt be solved. you spent many hours with me, which i will forever admire you for your courage and persistance,I would have never made it without you, God sent an angEL. We remained...

My personal favorite memory of David. Lake Shasta, house boat....late 1970's or mid 80's. We were eating dinner at the front of the boat, I spotted a small 12-18 inch rattle snake coiled up under the gang plank. Next thing I knew all us girls had picked up the food and moved it inside. Guess we thought the little guy was going to eat it??? Next thing I saw is your father, in all his glory... cowboy boots, swim trunks, red hair sticking up like every hair on his head hated the one standing...

Gail, Dan, Mike and Families:
My deepest sympathies to all of you. I met David a couple of times over at Dan & Mike's house. Great guy. I'm very sorry for your loss.
David, thank you for your years of public service. Thanks for making the streets of Salem just a tad bit safer.

Gail, Chad, Eric, our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. We are proud to have known Dave these many years (I was one of his first coaches when he started at the Sheriff's Office so many years ago!). He was a good man and certainly proud of you all.

I met Dave 31 years ago when he solved the case and put away the man that murdered my sister. Dave was a hero to our family. I read what Jay Boutwell said about leaving no stone unturned and my family and I are so thankful for that kind of tenacity. Our prayers are with you, Gail and your family. Dave was a good man. It was a priveledge for my husband and I to know him. The time spent away from his family made a difference in many lives. May the God of all comfort give you peace and may...

Dave was a great guy to be around. He brought enthusiasm to his police work and anything else he did. He will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and loved ones. So sorry for your loss.

Paul and Dawna Fluke, Oregon State Police retired & MCSO retired.

I worked many criminal cases with Dave when he worked for the MCSO. He was a good guy and good detective. He will be missed by all. My prayer and thoughts go out to his family.
