David Eugene Leman, at the age of 88, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2020 in Woodburn, Oregon. He was born November 18, 1932 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Moses Leman and Lillian Santler.

David was raised in Rapid City and graduated in 1950 from Rapid City High School. He attended one year at South Dakota School of Mines and then went to Eugene, Oregon where he attended and graduated from Eugene Bible College.

David married his childhood sweetheart, Doris Miller, on June 17, 1954. They were married at the Open Bible Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. She also had attended and graduated from Eugene Bible College.

During his time in Salem, he was instrumental in starting the chaplaincy program for Marion County Fire District #1, where he served 21 years of dedicated service.

The joy of their life was the adoption of their two children. Lynette Sue was adopted in 1962 and Daniel Scott in 1964.

During his life he enjoyed deep sea fishing, the Oregon Coast, camping with his family. He also ensured that he made lasting memories with wife, children, and grandchildren at Sunriver.

David is proceeded in death by his son Daniel Scott and his two sisters, Margaret and Marion.

He is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Lynette and her husband Jim Lown - their two children, Alicia and Jerid Lown, Daniel Scotts children - Lindsay and Daniel Leman, and a great grandson Ashton (Alicia's son).

David Leman will always be remembered as a Godly man with a shepherd's heart.

David was a good friend and well loved by all our family, in fact our brother David Paul Judy was named after him. He truly did have a shepherd's heart and loved the people in his congregation deeply. He presented a lasting impact for Jesus in my life.

My oldest memory ad a young Boy until I enlisted with the military is of My Pastor David. He was my hero. To many stories to mention in this space. I talk of those memories often to relatives. I will never forget them & the things I learned.
I will Miss him.

Doris, we are so sorry for your loss. You and David were the best neighbors at Saturday Market we could have asked for. He was a lovely man. We'll keep you and your family in our prayers.
