Dave and me on his tandem. This was a from a race held on I-5 just before they opened the stretch from Hammer Lane to Eight Mile Road.

I stumbled on this obituary while reminiscing about old Stockton bike riders. I am saddened to learn of Dave's passing. He and Kathy were extremely kind and supportive to me when I was just beginning my bike riding and racing journey. I have many fond memories and will never forget their kindness.

I miss you every day. Would like to hear another story or observation You had an uncanny ability seeing funny stories in everyday happenings. Remembering our adventures canoeing and camping.

I miss you. I don’t smile much anymore because you were my reason to live joyfully.

Although I have not seen Dave for so many many years I enjoyed working with him on the old SP in Stockton, he was a great guy.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I have emails starred and saved from Uncle Dave that I go back and read for the thrill of his storytelling. We've shared a love of reading and good books, and I feel so lucky to have had him in my life. He recently custom made and mailed a dozen picture frames to me, and it makes me feel happy to have those hanging on my wall, little bits of his craftsmanship living on, on the east coast. So glad we got to spend time together Thanksgiving 2017. I'll miss him and his amazing laugh.
