I stumbled on this obituary while reminiscing about old Stockton bike riders. I am saddened to learn of Dave's passing. He and Kathy were extremely kind and supportive to me when I was just beginning my bike riding and racing journey. I have many fond memories and will never forget their kindness.

I have emails starred and saved from Uncle Dave that I go back and read for the thrill of his storytelling. We've shared a love of reading and good books, and I feel so lucky to have had him in my life. He recently custom made and mailed a dozen picture frames to me, and it makes me feel happy to have those hanging on my wall, little bits of his craftsmanship living on, on the east coast. So glad we got to spend time together Thanksgiving 2017. I'll miss him and his amazing laugh.

I'll never forget taking a road trip up to Northern California in July 2011. You met us and toured the railroad museum with me, my mom, Uncle Mark, and Josh, Chloe, and Lilly. What a special memory. We will miss you, Uncle Dave but are so blessed to h

I knew you as my mom's sweet, older brother, Aunt Kathy's true love, and my caring Uncle Dave. While the distance kept us from seeing you often, you have always held a special place in my heart. You will be missed.

Even when the city lights or storm clouds obscure the sky that blankets us all --- I know that the moon and the stars are still sparking, spinning, dancing. Never resting, yet in peace. David will be in our hearts and minds forever.

I'll miss you, Uncle Dave. I've always appreciated the adventures you and Aunt Kathy gave me when I was a kid. From the Stockton Ports games, to canoeing through the delta, going up to the cabin in winter to see snow, and sometimes just hanging out playing the jukebox. I'll remember all the fun times and treasure all your fantastic stories.

There's a big hole in my heart. Nonetheless I had 70 great years with the best brother a boy could have. He filled spaces in so many lives. With a gentle touch he recaptured conversations and could ferret a story out of anyone. I now come across an article or a book I want to recommend that I want to share with him and am about to do that and..., damnit! I cannot. I shall miss him greatly.
