David MacArthur Obituary

David D. MacArthur, a long-time resident of Concord, died in Maryland Wednesday, March 7, 2018, he was 88 years old. He grew up in Connecticut, graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and served in the Army during the Korean War.

He also served on the Board of Deacons and as treasurer of the First Congregational Church in Concord and volunteered in the community through the Kiwanis Club.

Dad loved to travel, and seemed at home wherever he went; he relished meeting new people and learning about their lives. Dad listened, ask questions, and conversed in a way which drew others out and communicated his respect and appreciation for their perspectives and experiences.

Dave is survived by his five children, Paul, Liz, Tom, Marilyn and Jennifer. He also had six grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Jessy, Grace, David and Isabella; and one great-grandchild, Mackenzie. Dave will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, humility and kindness. All who knew him will forever emulate his open-minded, open-hearted attitude towards life.
