I spoke with him briefly a couple times here and there over the years and always found him to be what folks used to call a "Regular Joe". My condolences to family and friends.

I first met Dave in the late 60's early 70's in Kansas City. I had no idea that he was an artist and I thought he was just another biker. We had a friend in common and when Dave started doing the ER centerfolds, my (our) friend pointed out that Dave Mann was OUR Dave Mann. What a thrill for a guy from a small town, I had touched elbows with a legend. His work has inspired me for over 30 years and he will be greatly missed.
