Prof Miller was without question the best professor that I had at Columbia. I looked forward to his lectures on Operations Research (much to my surprise). He was so funny and a brilliant communicator and teacher.
Heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends.

One of my greatest teachers. Each time I walk into a classroom, I can only hope to come close to match his enthusiasm and skill as an educator.

Using crackerjacks to teach the normal curve, wwII reconnaissance flights to explain regression, dog food recipes to impart minimax analysis... it's been 20 years and Prof Miller's passion and scholarship are as alive in my memory as ever. We were so lucky to have him - condolences to his family and gratitude for the gifts he gave to so many.

Prof. Miller made a seemingly inaccessible subject into a relevant and practical business tool. I still remember the story about the GW when I cross. My heart felt condolences to his family.

Without a doubt, one of the best, most valuable classes at CBS. What a treat to have had him as a Professor. My deepest condolences to his family.

A true renaissance man. He brought statistics alive and made it relevant and even fun. Fun! Can you believe it? "How to lie with statistics" remains one of my favorites.

He was a great guy and I really enjoyed Professor Miller's class at CBS when I was there from '85-'87. I still recount his stories like when he would uncover people lying with statistics or his lambasting the lottery. My condolences go out to the family.
