Not sure what to say?

Saga Dave was such a nice & kind person! He always came up with new food dish creations and made us all look forward to coming to the IWU cafeteria especially on Thanksgiving night and other special days. You truly will be missed!

Always cheerful and friendly. Lifting our spirits during the long hard days of Illinois winters and university life. He is and will always be fondly remembered.

I met Dave two decades ago and remember him as a jovial, affectionate, accepting man. Seeing his photo pop up in my feed saddens me, and I'm sorry to his family. Clearly, he was very well loved.

Saga Dave was such a joyful part of IWU. He always greeted you with a bright smile!

"Saga Dave" was such a special part of the IWU community. It was always comforting to know, no matter what the school day threw at me, that he would be there to greet me at lunch or dinner with a friendly smile. It amazed me how he knew as all by name. A very special man who will be dearly missed.

I recognized Dave's face immediately. He was someone I often worked with to plan food events on Illinois Wesleyan's campus. He was a joy and will most certainly be missed. -Debbie Gorden

Saga Dave was a staple at IWU. He will live on forever in the memories of so many who attended during his time serving there. May he rest in peace.

Saga Dave was a friend to all at Wesleyan. He always made me smile, even when I was homesick. He truly was a gift to us all.

I still remember you excitedly hosting a "Hill" night at Saga. I was homesick and a taste of home was just what I needed. Your smiling face could lighten any day.
