David Phillips Obituary
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eula Lee Phillips; his father, Uriah Phillips II; and brothers, Marvin Phillips, Neal Phillips, and Henry Ben (Doc) Phillips.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Jeanette Drummond Phillips; his son, David (Dee) Phillips II, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, grandchildren Caroline and Laura; his son, Derek Phillips, daughter-in-law, Jeana, grandchildren Andrew and Keri; his brother, Uriah (Bubba) Phillips III (Rose) of Opelousas, La.; and his sister, Deloris Dryden (Elmer) of Charlotte, N.C.
David was a quiet man – “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10. He believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. He ALWAYS put his family first. He delighted in watching his grandchildren. He loved working, hunting, and fishing. He served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army in Germany. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the second floor TSICU unit at DCH Regional Medical Center for their care and concern. Also, thanks to Earlene “Mandie” King, Ashley Bolden, Carolyn Perrotti, Carol Bolden, and the devoted staff at hospice.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews Doug Gibson, Bud Phillips, Chip Phillips, Jason Drummond, Nick Drummond, and Lee Drummond.
