Not sure what to say?

Dave and I were stationed at Eielson AFB together and spent many of hours fishing the lakes near base. One of my most enjoyable times during that assignment was when Dave and I took a long weekend and fished the Chena River.

As many people in the military do, Dave and I lost touch and hadn’t spoken in a few years. When two of my new airmen started talking about this crazy instuctor they had for tech school named Sgt Roberson, I quickly knew they were talking about Dave.

Dave will be greatly missed. He was a beautiful man who loved the waters and his fishing so much, but his duties as an Officer in the Air Force made him the man that he became. Dave and I shared many stories about our lives, he loved talking about his buddies, his fishing, his "kids" Orso, Dea, and Lola...and his artistic abilities in designing and making his Orso Swimbaits, his artwork on his walls in his home, and his beautiful writings that show and told of who he was. Saw him at the lake every trip we were up there he'd toss me baits all the time which was awesome. Got a few chances to fish with Dave and always enjoyed our conversations as they were so full of interesting info. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I spoke to him on the phone two maybe three nights before his passing about a tournament I was...

I was the First Sgt at Port Hueneme (Mar 07- June 09). When Dave talked people listened. He was a great NCO that was not afraid to speak his mind when things were wrong. He will be sorely missed by the USAF.

Dave and I were stationed togethor at Eielson AFB, AK. He was a great troop and friend with unlimited potential. It is always so sad when the great ones leave us so soon. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dave and Amy - I know your hearts are broken, I have no words that seem to "justify" this space for your love of Dave Jr.
You are in my prayers each night.
