Not sure what to say?

At the boarding house on Cleveland Ave in the '70s, a few students would make their way up to the 2nd story knocking at the door of David's large room. Always welcoming with a gracious greeting, David would close his book or put down a pen and conversation would commence on literature, history, art or film to name a few. We students were mostly a dozen years younger, often wet behind the ears. He possessed a patient way of challenging us to broaden our frontier. What was so innate in David...

David had a heart that brightened every room he walked into, filling our days with endless smiles, laughter, and a warmth that felt like home. Since 2017, mornings at Panera on Main Street and Hot Bagels weren´t just routine-they were moments made special because of him. He welcomed so many friends, especially from Saudi Arabia, into his life and created a space where true friendship blossomed. They loved him, and he loved them back, always making them feel like family. Even now, they still...

It is hard to put into words how I feel about David. He was a truly remarkable person. I still remember the first time I met him during Orientation Day at the ELI in June 2016. He guided me in the right direction to improve my English—helping me with speaking, reading, and writing.
David was honest, kind, and always supportive.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

David was a true friend and one of the people who inspired me to think that a better world was coming. He would brush off whatever bad news came and I recalled his bright, sunny smile! He could talk about anything, but I most remembered—and greatly appreciated—his high regard for the classical education that this country was built on. For those of us who either shared this view or chose our future based on a similar reverence, we always knew we had a true ally.

I moved away from...

You have my condolences

Uncle David was always writing, even when sick with pneumonia.

Uncle David and I (little Judy) spending the day together having our silly time.

Oh, how I loved David. We worked together at Kinko's in Newark, DE sharing a great passion for Newark. We had some great conversations and had some laughs along the way. He was a rock and stood strong for his causes. He will be missed.
